Umar Akmal confidence of good show in ODIs, Test

PESHAWAR: Pakistan promising batsman Umar Akmal on Thursday expressed confidence of good show in both game Test and One-Day and would continue his efforts for keeping a place in the playing eleven. Talking to media men Umar Akmal, who is representing Sui Northern Gas Pipe Line Ltd (SNGPL) in the final against Peshawar Region at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium, said he had excellent performance against Bangladesh in the One-Day matches and hopefully things would be in better position while playing domestic cricket.
He said he is fully concentrating on playing domestic cricket to keep the form up for the international cricket besides making an error free flight in his cricketing career.
He said he would try his level best to hold a key place in the Test as well alongside One-Dayer and for this purpose he is struggling hard to achieve the desired goal. He said it does not matter that the batting line up of SNGPL tumbled down against Peshawar Region bowlers and he made only 7 runs in the first innings rather it is Test match and four more days to go so the team would certainly work hard to make a comeback.
Umar Akmal said that the forthcoming Pakistan and England Series would be a toughest one and certainly it needs much hard work and training but hopefully the team by then would be in good position to face England.
About his position as batsman in the team besides wicket keeping, he said, it depend on the captain and coach for the giving me extra responsibility.
“I will try my best to give the best as I can and perform well in any of the department as a responsible player,” Umar Akmal added. (APP)
