ISLAMABAD: SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARC CCI) is organizing a conference on Promoting South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) globally as ‘Destination South Asia’here at local hotel on December 9 (Friday) at 2.30 p.m.The conference is being organized in connection with “26th Anniversary of the SAARC” to highlight achievements and future strategy for making the region as the destination for global economic activities for the benefit of the people of the region, SAARC-CCI sources said.Iqbal Tabish, Secretary General SAARC CCI would present introductory remarks, while Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, President, FPCCI will deliver his welcome remarks.
Tariq Sayeed, immediate Past President, SAARC CCI would present his keynote address on the occasion.
Mushahid Hussain Syed, Secretary General of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) would be the chief guest.
Parliamentarians, diplomats from SAARC member countries,senior government officials, Economic and Development experts , senior members of the business community, journalists are likely to participate in the conference.
The participants of the conference would share their experiences and also put forward recommendations at the conclusion of the event for forging greater cooperation among SAARC member countries specially promotion of trade, investment among the member states for the welfare of people of the region.
The concluding remarks would be made by Iftikhar Ali Malik, Vice resident, SAARC CCI and CEO Guard Group.(APP)
