PPP to support ANP candidate in Mardan bye-polls

Mardan: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Mardan, has decided to support Awami National Party (ANP)’s candidate in the bye-elections for the seat of National Assembly from constituency NA 9, which will be held on February 25.

In this connection, a meeting was held on Tuesday. Divisional President of PPP Mardan Abdul Samad Khan, District President Khan Ghawas, General Secretary Ikram Shah, Shahadat Khan and Faqir Babu attended the meeting while former Federal Minister Muhammad Azam Khan Hoti, Haji Yaqoob Khan, Imran Mandori, Himayat Ullah Mayar and Haji Atta Ullah Khan represented ANP in the meeting.

It was decided in the meeting that PPP would support Himayat Ullah Mayar candidate of ANP in the bye-election on NA 9 seat, which was vacant after the resignation of former federal minister Nawabzada Khawaja Muhammad Khan Hoti who joined PTI few weeks ago.

Addressing the meeting Muhammad Azam Khan Hoti, father of Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti, said that President Zardari and ANP leadership have decided that alliance of both the parties will also continue after the upcoming general elections and due to which both the party should show their unity in the bye-election.

Addressing t the meeting Abdus Samad Khan Toru said that there has reservations of PPP workers on alliance with ANP but instead of this they will accept the decision of party leadership.
