Governor of Makkah washes the Kaaba

Makkah Muharram: On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Prince Khalid Al Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Makkah Region Prince Khalid Alfaisal bin Abdulaziz washed the Kaaba on Saturday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Immediately after his arrival, he and his companions washed the inside of the Kaaba with Zamzam water mixed with rose water, and wiped the walls with pieces of cloth wet with this water.

Along the Governor, the washing of the Kaaba was also carried out by Prince Bandar bin Khalid Alfaisal bin Abdulaziz, General President of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul Rahman Alhosain; Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu; Minister of Hajj Dr. Fouad bin Abdulsalam Farsi; Mayor of Makkah Dr. Osama bin Fadl Al-Bar; Vice General President of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Alkhozaim, and Undersecretary the Governorate of Makkah Region Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al-Khudairi.

The ceremony was witnessed by members of the Islamic diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a number of ministers, heads of government departments, Attendants of the Holy Mosque and a group of citizens.
