DHAKA: Two Bangladeshi journalists of two private TV channels were killed on Friday night at their residence in capital Dhaka , police said.
Police Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Benazir Ahmed told Xinhua by phone the couple journalists were murdered and the reasons were still unknown.
Considering the case as a sensitive one, Ahmed said police will act quickly to arrest the killers of the two journalists
Meherun Runi was a reporter of ATN Bangla while her husband Sagor Sarwar, who worked for the Maasranga Television Channel as a news editor, was also a correspondent of the Bangla department of Germany magazine Deutsche Welle.
Bangladeshi Home Minister Sahara Khatun, Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad, Leader of the opposition and BNP chief Khaleda Zia in separate messages condemned the killing of the two journalists.
