KARACHI : Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where four ships carrying containers, urea, chemicals and furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal,Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Sunday, February 12.Meanwhile another containers ship also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.Berth occupancy was managed of the Port at 38% on Sunday where a total of five ships namely C.V MSC Wisconsin, M.V Florida-II, M.V STX Daisy, M.T Capriole and M.T Fair Spirit are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 54,484 tonnes, comprises 43,749 tonnes imports and 10,735 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 1,333 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port.
Three ships C.V MSC Wisconsin, M.T Capriole and M.T Fair Spirit sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.
Two ships MSC Clara and M.T Golden Ambrosia carrying containers and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT and EVTL respectively on Monday, February 13 and two ships C.V Al-Noof and C.V Sea land Washington are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday, February 14. (APP)
