MNAs, Senators appreciate conduct of PM in Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD: Senators and MNAs hailing from different parties called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at his Parliament House Chamber on Monday and appreciated his conduct in the Supreme Court which amply manifested the esteem the Prime Minister held for the judiciary and the rule of law.They said the Prime Minister was welcomed in the House today as he was welcomed the day when he was unanimously elected as the Prime Minister of Pakistan about four years ago.


They assured that they would continue their wholehearted support to democracy and the supremacy of the Parliament.
They paid tribute to the Prime Minister for working courageously to strengthen the democratic institutions in the country.
They said that a large number of Parliamentarians across the political spectrum were appreciative of his leadership which was focused to make the Parliament as an effective voice of the people of the country.
The Prime Minister thanked the Parliamentarians for their support and assured them that they would collectively strive to uphold the cause of democracy in accordance with the Constitution which clearly defines the role of all the institutions of the state.
Those, who called on Prime Minister, were Senator Almas Parveen Baloch, Senator Syeda Sughra Imam, Minister for Textile Makhdoom Shahabuddin, and MNAs Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Dr. Attiya Inyatullah, Tassaduq Khan, Shagufta Jumani, Dr. Muhammad Ayub Sheikh, Sufyan Yousuf, Haidar Ali Shah, Mufti Ajmal Khan and Pir Dilawar Shah.
