Afghan Ambassador calls on PTI chief

ISLAMABAD: Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan, Mohammed Umar Daudzai here on Tuesday called on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and discussed matters of mutual interest.Imran Khan said his dream was to see an open border between friendly and peaceful Pakistan and Afghanistan.Imran Khan hoped both countries would move forward and some good can come through dialogue and understanding, said a press release.Ambassador Daudzai said that different agreements were imposed on the Afghans throughout history since the former Soviet Union invasion, including the arrival of US and NATO forces.


Afghanistan, he said was not even represented in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions on ISAF and felt that this situation would continue for at least four more years.
The Afghan ambassador said that his country has been investing very heavily in human development including higher education, Afghanistan today is a different Afghanistan from that of 2001.
Imran Khan expressed his hope that with the US withdrawal there would be no repeat of 1989 and civil war again.
The ambassador pointed out that the forthcoming visit of President Karzai would be different from past visits and Afghanistan wanted to establish good relationship with Pakistan. (APP)
