Nawaz Sharif, he said, is holding rallies just to avoid the Senate polls. Talking to APP on phone, he said on the one hand Nawaz claims to be a champion of democracy while on the other he was hatching conspiracies to derail the democratic system.
Riaz said the country was passing through a critical phase and at this stage all political forces should show unity to strengthen the government. He advised the PML-N chief not to become a pawn in the hands of forces lurking to ambush democracy.
The PPP leader said those who wanted to grab power through the backdoor were spreading rumours against the government. Raja said Zardari was recovering fast and would soon return to Pakistan.
